AxeProgress is an independent companion platform engineered to give axe throwers deeper visibility into their historical trajectory, Collins rating changes, clutch accuracy under pressure, and head-to-head records. Because we rely on publicly available match data, we hold our infrastructure to strict standards of API citizenship and server protection.
To prevent flooding or burdening upstream servers, all network requests from AxeProgress pass through a centralized async token-bucket rate limiter:
We minimize outbound traffic by storing throw data in an optimized local database:
AxeProgress is built with privacy-by-default principles:
Sports scores, individual throw scores, and match results are raw factual data:
AxeProgress simulates head-to-head pairings across league schedules and upcoming matchups using a disciplined, multi-factor statistical model designed specifically for precision target sports.
Small-sample thrower averages (e.g. substitutes or Week 1 rookies) are regressed toward the league baseline ($K = 60\text{ axes} \approx 4\text{ matches}$), preventing single-night anomalies from distorting predictions.
High-volatility clutch conversion rates are regressed toward the sport baseline (~40–42%, $K = 10\text{ calls}$) rather than assuming unsustainable 100% or 0% conversion ability.
Calibrates logistic dispersion and scoring weights dynamically for Premier (drop-rule penalty & 7-pt clutch volatility) versus Standard rules (tighter regulation margins).
Transparent real-time telemetry across all tracked data, rate-limited upstream API calls, and data retrieved from AxeScores.
HTTP 200 responses vs upstream 4xx/5xx throttles.
